John Peters, born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1732, came to America in 1755 to settle in Boston and later participate in the famous Boston Tea Party. As a soldier in the Revolutionary Army, he fought at the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Princeton, Monmouth, and Trenton. He was also at the capture of Generals Burgoyne and Cornwallis. He finished his days in Philadelphia and died in 1832 at the age of 100.
