Masters of Miniature

During the 37th Annual Model Ship Show from November 14 – January 2, exquisite ship models will be on display in the USS Constitution Museum along with marine paintings by members of the American Society of Marine Artists.

Over 50 handcrafted models of all sizes, types and materials give visitors the opportunity to explore the intricate art of model making as practiced today.

Bring the family to enjoy the show and special programming. Explore the show through our scavenger hunt and join in the fun of hands-on activity. Or, every Wednesday from 11am – 3pm until December 23, 2015, watch professional ship model conservator Rob Napier clean and restore a late 19th century model of USS Constitution from the Museum’s collection that was built by one of her crew members. Meet and talk to a modeler as members of the Model Guild will be on hand at various times throughout the show to answer questions about the models on display and share tips and techniques, all while working on models of their own.

Browse the museum store for great holiday gift ideas for aspiring modelers and children interested in modeling – wood kits, plastic kits, and books. .
