“A fun twist on musty old historical museums”
My family just visited the new Boston Tea Party Museum in Boston Harbor on Dec 16th. What a fabulous experience! You deserve much credit for designing an outstanding 21st century, multimedia presentation of American History for the American people and tourists from around the world. Every element of the tour (e.g. energetic and engaged staff, 3D painting, 3D 2-women talk, ship tour, museum tour and the Battle of Lexington movie) deserve an A+. My wife, a former American History teacher, cried during the movie. You truly “exceeded our expectations” for an American history event.. From June, 2012 onward, this museum should become the #1 tourist attraction (shared with the Freedom Trail) in Boston.
EXCELLENT show and tour…would highly recommend to friends and students, as I am an elementary school teacher!
Loved it! Should be mandatory for all young students and those entering a Political Career. Staff was awesome, and funny.
I am a fifth grade teacher, in Massachusetts. The content of the museum matched the Social Studies standards perfectly. The guide was informative, pleasant and totally in character. Each section provided a different perspective on the time period. I would definitely recommend this attraction to anyone. Well worth the trip!
We loved this new attraction in Boston. We live on the North Shore and brought our 3 year old in on the fourth of July. It was a wonderful experience. From the boats to the costumes to the museum to the detail of the feathers it felt like a treat. Our guide was tremendous. We are already highly recommending to friends and family and will bring out of state guests when they are in town.
Our family had a wonderful time. Very impressed by the holographic portraits and the battle movie. Lots of fun.
Someone please give a big pat on the back and promotion to whomever plays “Thomas Melville” at your new Boston Tea Party Museum. He was our guide for the 1:15pm tour today (7/21). If all of your guides are as enthusiastic and know as much as he, I want to visit more of your museums with my children (ages 7, 9, and 10). You did a great job with this place. It’s a fantastic way to engage people of all ages with the historical significance of all that abounds in the Boston area. I only wish we had visited you first, so my kids would’ve had a greater appreciation for the other historical sights in the city.
A great attraction for the whole family. Very happy we included the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum in our plans. The kids liked the ships, tossing the crates into the harbor and the costumed characters. The adults were amazed by talking portraits, and moved to tears by the short movie. It was a patriotic experience for the July 4 weekend. The Tea Room was also a nice visit. With hot tea and iced tea, scones, muffins, cookies and costumed tea ladies, in the pleasant smelling, air conditioned room.
As an Elementary School principal, I have had the pleasure of visiting many historic sites and tours with fifth grade classes. I must say that this was one of the most insightful, moving tributes to our nations history that I have seen.
I work across the street from the Museum, and watched it being built in great anticipation of the opening day. My husband and I took the tour on July 4, and it was a very fitting activity for that date. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. It is evident that the guides truly enjoy their work; they were terrific at what they do; superior in every aspect. I have recommended the Museum to many acquaintances, and will continue to do so. Thank you for creating a wonderful historical experience. What a success!
Very well done! We had a great time!!!
